Tree System for sustainable urban development
Did you know that our eco tree system allows trees to get by without an additional supply of precious drinking water for longer periods of time and thus reduce high water charges?
Street trees contribute to health, climatic, economic and social improvements in the city in times of increasing land sealing and growing cities. This makes it all the more important to create good site conditions for trees. Our natural and drivable CW eco-tree system consists of individual modules, which together result in an innovative system in which people and ecosystems benefit.
Worth knowing
Trees make an important contribution to climate adaptation. ot only do they absorb large amounts of CO2, lowering the ambient temperature by up to 5° C with the help of transpiration, but they also produce oxygen and also filter particulate matter and air pollutants. Studies show that increased and more stable growth is possible through long-term use of precipitation as well as improved nutrient supply (Grey et al. 2018; Balder et al. 2018).’ Street trees contribute to health, climatic, economic and social improvements in the city in times of increasing land sealing and growing cities. With a depth of the water storage basin of 1.5 m and a water retention capacity of the substrate of 25-30% by volume, 560-600 l/m² of precipitation reaches the storage basin. As most of the precipitation falls in winter and spring, the stored water could also be used several months later. The tree infiltration system can help to re-establish a natural water cycle in cities and thus better supply the plants.
Challenges

Properties
Our CW organic tree system reduces the long-term workload and costs. At the same time, it makes it possible to improve the living conditions of the trees.
- Water- and air-permeable due to an ideal grain gradation
- Supply of water, oxygen and nutrients
- Water retention, without waterlogging
- Natural system adapted to climate change
- Tree slice is passable
- Weatherproof
- Reversible
Advantages
Our CW organic tree system reduces the long-term workload and costs. At the same time, it makes it possible to improve the living conditions of the trees.
- Reduction of irrigation and maintenance costs
- No damage to the building fabric, such as root breaks
- Supports climate adaptation
- Can be supplemented with the CW pavements
