Initial situation
Until recently, the municipal road “Vordere Fängen” in the town of Dornbirn consisted of asphalt and patch gravel and was to be repaired due to many potholes and ruts, among other things. In order to be able to contribute to the unsealing of the city with the new road surface, this time a natural, water- and air-permeable road surface was to be installed. As our Cw road surfaces are all free of environmentally harmful binding agents, which was particularly important to the city of Dornbirn, they opted for our Cw Traffic 0/16 farm road due to its long-term stability, water permeability and environmentally friendly materials.
Climateways Traffic 0/16
Our farm road is made of high-quality, regional and purely natural materials (LAGA Z 0). Cw Traffic is known for its high shear strength, weather resistance, air and water permeability. Thanks to the high load-bearing capacity of our road surface, which remains stable and efficient even under heavy use, the municipal road can once again be used by cars and tractors without any concerns. Thanks to the construction method and the natural, environmentally friendly materials, our road surface can be built and driven on in a short time and remains permanently reversible.
Implementation
The first part of this project covers an area of 1000 m2. First, the original road surface was torn up and the existing base course was profiled and rolled with a grader. To lay the dynamic Cw Saving layer, which is responsible for the water management of the road surface, the material was filled into the paver and distributed over the surface, profiled and then compacted with a roller. The paver increases the efficiency, precision and therefore the service life of the road surface. Our Cw Traffic surface course was laid over the dynamic layer using the same principle. After 3 wet-dry cycles, the new road surface will reach its final strength.
We look forward to further projects from spring 2024, where we will continue our good cooperation with the city of Dornbirn.
