Climateways Retention Body Our solution for a sustainable water cycle

Did you know that our retention bodies can save up to 1 ton/m³ of weight compared to conventional products?

Water absorption and storage is increasingly coming into focus in view of climate change. With our retention bodies, which are installed under or on existing properties such as playgrounds and sports fields, cycle paths or parking lots, large masses of water can be temporarily stored and fed into the groundwater. Relieving the sewer system, especially after heavy rainfall events, cost savings through lower fees and an improvement in groundwater supplies – advantages that arise from our underground retention bodies.

Our retention bodies have the following properties:

  • Long & effective water storage capacity
  • Cost-effective
  • Dimensionally stable and pressure-resistant
  • Reversible
  • Weatherproof
  • Filtering and cleaning effect
  • Cooling effect due to capillary ascent
  • Lightweight material
  • Modular design and possibility to combine with other Climateways water management systems

Construction & Use

The existing areas above our retention bodies can be built on and driven on. Some examples are:

  • Sports and leisure facilities
  • Green & Park Areas
  • private roads and traffic routes
  • Cycle paths
  • Roofs

Our services:

  • Consultation
  • Material delivery
  • Construction supervision
  • Implementation

Our structure

  1. Water-permeable surface enables infiltration, but also the release of water to the city (surroundings) and serves to cool down and create a feel-good climate.
  2. Special natural minerals store the water reversibly
  3. Excess water can be transferred to a water reservoir using a drainage system
  4. Geotextile fleece (water can slowly seep into the subsoil)
  5. Primary treatment system for polluted wastewater from traffic areas
  6. Intermediate storage with throttle valve
  7. Cistern
  8. Clay sealing
